  • Dye Ampoules do not have a fixed color.
    • To use a Dye Ampoule, one must play a mini-game to select 5 colors from a color pool.
      • Pick the part you wish to dye and then click 'Pick Colors' to start the selection process.
        • During the Dying process, you have a short time to move the mouse to a set of 5 colors, and then you can choose whether to dye with the current 5 colors or to retry.
          • The cursor will be fixed into 5 randomized locations, where 1 of the cursors will be the center and the other 4 close by.
          • If you are not satisfied with the color pool or the selection you have made, you may click 'Cancel' at any time after starting the selection process to restart the mini-game.
          • Alternatively, you may also click the section button to refresh both before and after starting the color selection process.
        • Since the color pool is automatically set when you select the equipment part to dye and not when you click 'Pick Colors', one is encouraged to spending some time studying the color pool before the mini-game.
        • You can change the color pool by switching back and forth between the possible parts on the equipment.
  • The color pool given for cloth versus leather is different; the leather color pool consists mostly of various brown colors, where as the cloth color pool consist of many different colors.
  • There are multiple other palettes besides cloth and leather. One is a Nylon Palette which, similar to cloth, does have true white and black pixels. However, white will react the same was as leather, in the way it will appear silver instead of white.
    • Another palette, called the Pixie Palette by players, does not contain true white or black, and gets its name from the pixie-like shades, none of which ever appearing too dark.
      • More often than not, the colors presented in the icon are much lighter once they are equipped when compared to the item icon.
    • To obtain a true red on either cloth or leather, one must obtain a Red Dye Ampoule.
  • Dye Ampoules cannot be used on metal parts of equipment. For Metal Dye Ampoule, click here.

  • A Fixed Color Dye Ampoule has a fixed color that cannot be changed.
    • A Fixed Color Dye Ampoule will dye the same color on both leather and cloth.
